The cosmetics legend gives us the lowdown on natural beauty for SUITCASE Vol. 18: The Rhythm Issue

Beauty isn’t just about how you look –it’s about having self-confidence and embracing who you are. While make-up shouldn’t be considered a one-step prescription for self-confidence, I believe that the right products can help us achieve that little boost towards looking and feeling our best.

Pre-order Volume 18

For me, looking and feeling good is all about balance – living a healthy lifestyle and using effective products that complement my beauty regime. Here are a few essentials from my make-up bag that enhance my own natural rhythms.

Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Moisturising Balm, £66 If I could only have one skincare product, this balm would be it. I have dry skin, and this cream immediately plumps it up, balances out my complexion and makes me look refreshed.

Bobbi Brown Remedies Skin Reviver No. 91, £29.50 I love layering skincare formulas under my moisturiser. This remedy is made with a special blend of super greens including kale and spinach. Now my skin can“eat” veggies too.

Bobbi Brown SPF 50 Protective Face Base, £31 Nothing is more important than incorporating sunscreen into your beauty regime. During the summer I keep a tube of SPF 50 with me at all times so I can reapply throughout the day.

Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer, £19.50 Concealer is my desert island cosmetic. When applied correctly, it instantly makes you appear awake and refreshed, no matter what’s going on in the outside world.

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick, £31 The great thing about this formula is that it blends easily and is skin-tone correct (like all my foundations), so it matches my complexion exactly. It’s perfect for on-the-go and touch-ups.

Bobbi Brown Pale Pink Pot Rouge, £21 Blush is a must for creating a healthy, pretty look; it’s an instant lift and the quickest way to add a glow to the face. The right shade will add brightness without looking obvious.

Jo Malone London Grapefruit Body Crème, £52 This has a light, refreshing scent, keeps my skin hydrated and helps me feel energised for the day.

Dr. Bronner’s Magic Pure-Castile Liquid Soap in Peppermint, £6.49 I keep Dr. Bronner’s soap in all my showers and bathrooms. The peppermint scent is great, and it really does leave you feeling squeaky clean and invigorated.

Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector, £24.99 I’ve been grey since I was 25 so I colour my hair every two weeks. I recently found a conditioner called Olaplex, which helps repair damaged hair and keeps it looking healthy.
