Wendy Rowe

Wendy Rowe is a world-renowned make-up artist and beauty expert known around the world for her holistic approach to skincare. For SUITCASE 16 Wendy shared with us some of her go-to skincare products.

I passionately believe that beauty and wellness are rooted in what you feed your skin; what you put onto your body is just as important as what you put into it. Where possible, I look for ingredients – in terms of nutrition, but also cosmetics – which are both natural and organic. I’ve found it can make such a difference to how you look and feel.

My new book, Eat Beautiful, offers a complete guide on how to achieve this balance. For example, I’m always drawn towards things with amazing natural scents, which are free from synthetic ingredients and fragrances. I love products that use herbs and natural extracts as well.

Here are only a few of my tried and tested, multi-purpose favourites which can deliver visible benefits while boosting your internal well-being and mind.

sarah chapman

Sarah Chapman Skinesis Skin Insurance SPF 30 £44

I love this product, it’s got everything you want; it smells fresh and clean, has a slight tint to it and also contains SPF 30. It’s perfect for applying over moisturiser as it’s not too heavy and doesn’t clog up pores.

mio skincare

Mio Skincare Workout Wonder Invigorating Muscle Gel £21

Great post-yoga or after a workout, Mio Skincare’s gel helps boost muscle recovery. It contains herbs and plant extracts – including horse chestnut, arnica and peppermint– which are designed to soothe and repair.

skinade

Skinade from £99 for a 30-day course

The collagen in Skinade’s anti-ageing drink is sourced from freshwater fish, which ensures it is mercury free and low in sodium – a more natural way to give your skin a boost than artificial fillers or injections.

darphin oil

Darphin Nourishing Satin Oil £39

In hotter climates I like to use a dry oil instead of a moisturiser after a shower, as it absorbs much more easily and isn’t greasy. Darphin’s oil infused with red ginger, inca inchi and safflower is really nourishing and smells gorgeous.

the-organic-pharmacy

The Organic Pharmacy Neroli Body Lotion £41.95

I love this body lotion from The Organic Pharmacy because when I use it, I know I’m not putting anything bad onto my skin. It contains only natural fragrances and organic feel-good ingredients, including neroli, rosehip and aloe extract.

joelle-ciocco

Joëlle Ciocco Sensitive Cleansing Milk £48

This is my favourite cleanser; naturally scented with orange blossom, my skin always reacts well to it. Enriched with jojoba, neroli, calendula, horsetail and arnica, it feels super-soothing.

burberry-contour-pen

Burberry Face Contour Pen £25

I couldn’t live without Burberry’s contouring pen. It’s an amazing multi-use product! I use it to transform my eyes and lips as well as define my face.

susanne kaufmann spray

Susanne Kaufmann Leg and Vein Cooling Spray £23

I absolutely love this spray for when I’m flying. It contains menthol, yarrow and horse chestnut and is great for invigorating the flow of blood to the legs.

jao hand refresher

Jao Refresher £7.60

As a make-up artist, I’m always cleaning my hands. I love Jao’s sanitiser because it works brilliantly as a disinfectant and contains a blend of essential oils with no artificial fragrances, sulphates or silicones.

Acqua di Santa Maria Novella

Santa Maria Novella Acqua di S. M. Novella £94.50

I love the original scent from Santa Maria Novella. It’s a beautiful perfume and smells powdery and clean. Even though its formula was created in 1533, it’s still very timeless and modern.

burberry first kiss

Burberry First Kiss £22.50

Burberry’s lip balm is amazing, it’s super moisturising with a gentle colour. The ceramic applicator glides across the lips – it feels really soothing.
