TBalance is a brand that helps individuals find their balance by addressing every aspect of their life. Of course, by tapping into food but also into everything else that “fills you up”, including self-love, relationships, exercise, careers and spirituality…
As Roald Dahl once said, “If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.” That being said, it helps to have some actual sunbeams on your face too, right? As we ease our way out of the chapped lips of winter hibernation, we ask Tori Boughey, holistic health coach and founder of TBalance, to talk us through the products that will help put a spring in our step this season.
DoTerra Serenity Oil, £42
Good quality sleep is the ticket to beauty. Not only will it help you transition smoothly into spring but it’ll keep the ugly stress hormone, cortisol, at bay. If unwinding is something you struggle with then try rubbing some DoTerra Serenity oil into the base of your feet – it will encourage inner calm and relieve any anxieties.
This has been my absolute skin saviour throughout the winter and I don’t doubt that it’ll carry me through spring too – follow my lead and invest in some of Bodyism’s Beauty Food. It is an elixir of super greens, antioxidants and collagen, and is guaranteed to give your skin a boost. These sachets are perfect while you’re on the go and after ten days you’ll be feeling radiant.
It’s important to incorporate a bi-weekly exfoliation ritual into your beauty routine, and Colbert MD Facial Discs are the most incredible answer to DIY microdermabrasion. With various plumping, line-eliminating and dead skin removing properties, your face will be left feeling supple and looking illuminated. They’re also individually packed, so slip perfectly into your vanity kit.
CPress Cleanses, from £35
Whether you’re looking to reset your eating habits or cleanse pre/post holiday, sometimes you just need to kickstart your digestive system: CPRESS is the answer. My favourite is the green cleanse but I would recommend going for the “original cleanse” at this time of year because the juices include lots of seasonal fruits and veg. Linda Meredith’s Q3, £79
I use Linda Meredith’s Q3 daily moisturiser all year round – adding a serum in the winter months – I couldn’t recommend it more. Its got a creamy texture but feels light, helping to restore your skin’s moisture content to the correct levels. It’s consistency is perfect for this time of year and it moisturises so deep that it’ll help eliminate the marks of any lurking winter blemishes.
Switch it up and start using a lighter foundation; my favourite at the moment is Charlotte Tilbury’s light wonder foundation. It’s super lightweight and leaves your skin looking illuminated and dewy. It comes in many different shades; perfect for all skin tones and is SPF15 which is vital as we move into the sunnier months.
Oskia’s Renaissance Mask, £49.50
Whenever I feel as though my face needs perking up a little, I turn to Oskia’s Renaissance Mask. Smooth it evenly over a dry, cleansed face and leave for 10-20 minutes. In this time it gently exfoliates and removes any dead skin cells revealing a much brighter complexion.
When it comes to body scrubs it’s hands down best to use natural ones, which may be based on things like sugar, salt or coffee. At the moment, my favourite is the Moroccan Rose Otto Sugar Body Polish by REN. It smells incredible – rose is a perfect fragrance as we come into spring – and the olive and almond oils hydrate the skin. Be sure to use any scrub in a circular motion as this helps to breakdown cellulite and eliminate water retention.
Bathing in Himalayan salts is a great way to detoxify. The salts draw toxins out of our bodies via reverse osmosis and as well as being a great way to relax, your body will absorb minerals such as magnesium, potassium, sodium, zinc and calcium – perfect before going to sleep. I love Herbivore Botanicals’ packaging but any Himalayan salts will do the trick.
If you’re travelling this spring, De Mamiel’s Altitude Oil is an absolute must. A heady blend of lavender, eucalyptus, fragonia essential oil, peppermint and lemon myrtle and will protect and support your immune system while on the go – just dab it under your nose or rub a few drops on your wrists to clear your head.
