What do you get when you put two British girls in the middle of the desert, with nothing but a Sixties-style wardrobe, a Bond villain-style house and a vintage sports car to play with? You get a pair of Barbarellas in cahoots – if the two girls in question happen to be Suki Waterhouse and Poppy Jamie.
SUITCASE Magazine and Magna Carta present The Getaway starring Suki Waterhouse and Poppy Jamie as two middle-of-nowhere bound heroines traversing the martian terrain of Joshua Tree National Park in California. To coincide with the release of SUITCASE Magazine Volume 16 The Spirit Issue and launch of the pair’s accessories brand Pop and Suki, the short is a homage to their unparalleled (and hilarious) friendship.
From skydiving with Rastas to food poisoning in the Amazon, Poppy and Suki’s story shows that real friendship travels well. The girls spoke to Emily Ames about how finding friendship in Los Angeles has kept them sane. Read the full interview here.
