While shopping in Dubai is impressive, it’s nothing on the new plans the emirate’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, has unveiled: a 13 million square feet mall.

Said to include 100 hotels and serviced apartments, a climate controlled street network, and an indoor theme park that’ll be covered during peak summer months, the proposed idea will be four times the size of the world’s biggest mall, which already locates in Dubai – The Dubai Mall.

What’s more? It’ll be covered by a large glass dome and have a 3 million square feet wellness district where tourists and visitors can book surgeries and cosmetic procedures.

Although we’re unsure when the constructions will begin, it’s estimated to take around ten years to complete. Dubai’s Holding Chief Executive, Ahmad Bin Byat, has said it will require a mega “Dh25 billion (approximately £40 billion) every year for the next 10 years”.
