The Soho House empire strikes again, but this time for a wider audience. Soho House Berlin has embraced the city’s laid back, all-inclusive attitude by opening the newest branch of the renowned Italian restaurant group Cecconi’s to those with and without Soho House memberships. Cecconi’s is situated on the ground floor of Soho House Berlin and is the latest expansion of The Store boutique, an audio visual exhibition and co-working space.
Mixing the grit of the German capital with the romanticism of old Italy, Cecconi’s shouldn’t work but it does – cherry-red leather booths and round tables sit on a striped marble floor and contrast against exposed concrete walls. A more luxe-dining option than the casual fare offered at The Store, Cecconi’s serves up a modernised twist on northern Italian cuisine. This means cicchetti (Italian tapas) such as baked gnocchi romana with gorgonzola and fried olives with mortadella and provolone, a selection of tartare and carpaccio, pasta dishes like spaghetti lobster with saffron, chilli and basil and wood-oven pizza. Go for one of Soho House’s custom cocktails or try a spritz -punch – rosemary-infused Aperol with ginger, prosecco and fresh fruit.
