With the spring 2020 issue of SUITCASE Magazine about to be sprung, we’re inviting you to celebrate the launch with an honest, tongue-in-cheek discussion about wellbeing travel and what it really takes to feel healthy in our era of “wellness” overload.
The Health Issue (launching online this Thursday and on newsstands from next week) is our spin on the thorny topic of “self-care” and how it relates to travel, acknowledging that while you can’t solve your struggles with a holiday any more than you can with a bubble bath or a green juice, travel does afford us the opportunity to temporarily step outside of ourselves, examine the strains of our everyday existence and reclaim some balance. In order to test this theory, our contributors travelled to the valleys of Spanish Andalusia, the snowy forests of Japan in early spring and the forward-facing city of Portland, Oregon, among other destinations.
Our Print Editor-in-Chief, Olivia Squire, will be talking to a panel of travel, food and wellbeing experts in Bamford’s calming space in Brompton Cross, near South Kensington.
Melissa Hemsley: self-taught chef, bestselling cookbook author, wholefood advocate and sustainability champion Melissa is passionate about spreading the power of feel-good food. Having just released her latest book, Eat Green, she’ll give us a snapshot of her travels in Sri Lanka and talk about her journey in the wellbeing industry.
Rachael McKeon: the current Travel Editor at goop, Irish-born, LA-based Rachael is well-versed in travel and wellness trends on both sides of the pond. Having spent more time than most narrowing down everything from the dreamiest escapes and the best juice bars in cities across the world, naturally enough she has a few of London’s wellbeing wizards up her sleeve.
As well as hearing from our panel while sipping drinks and eating snacks provided by Daylesford, all guests will receive a goodie bag containing a Bamford product, voucher for a complimentary yoga session and a copy of The Health Issue.
Tickets are limited to just 35 places, so secure your spot below and we’ll see you there.
