Everyday is an adventure and every traveller is the centre of their own. Whether traversing a mountain trail or driving along a city street, the MUJI “To GO” collection’s artfully designed and durable products allow you to adapt to a life full of adventure.
To celebrate the launch of the new collection we’ve partnered with the Japanese brand for a series of projects and events that are undeniably more bento than backpacker. Grab the latest issue of SUITCASE Vol. 23, The Adventure Issue, for a taster of the line which ranges from a collapsible tote bag to a hardcore polycarbonate case that will reform your travels. Then there are the curated window displays in MUJI stores across London and Europe – from Chiado to Barcelona, Frankfurt to Milan. Look out for our series of illustrated figures clutching a SUITCASE Magazine with MUJI luggage in tow.
On Thursday 7 June, A Life of Adventure: In Conversation with Photojournalist Emily Garthwaite will be co-hosted by MUJI To GO and SUITCASE Magazine.
Photojournalist Emily Garthwaite will be talking to SUITCASE Print Editor, Olivia Squire, about how she prepares for her travels, holding on to her identity in extreme situations, and how she defines adventure as a young female photojournalist. Guests will receive a gift bag containing the summer 2018 issue of SUITCASE Vol. 23: The Adventure Issue (RRP £9), in addition to selected samples from the MUJI To GO collection.
Emily Garthwaite is a photojournalist with a focus on humanitarian and environmental stories. Travelling to areas as challenging as Ethiopia, Sumatra and Iraq on assignment – where she recently co-directed her first documentary on Arba’een, the world’s largest annual pilgrimage – Emily is part of a new generation of storytellers who are shifting the modern meaning of adventure away from the self-centred and towards a more purposeful exploration of the world.
