Baja Peninsula, a Trip for One

Baja Peninsula, a Trip for One

The
Baja California peninsula in Mexico is the gorgeous strip of
land separating the Gulf of California and the Pacific Ocean, full
of cactus forests, otherworldly scenery and charming people. I
travelled the winding and beautiful Highway 1 from the Cabo airport
to the tiny town of Todos Santos alone, and in an awful rental car,
bottoming out in potholes left and right and constantly worrying if
I was still on the right road. The entire trip and drive seem like
a dreamy chapter of my life that I still can’t wrap my head around.
It was a trip planned for two, but it snagged on an expired
passport, and left me travelling abroad alone for the first time in
my life. It was a voyage of new friends and self discovery that
still seems like some adventure I read about in a fictitious
book.
