Liza de Guia has made her career behind the lens directing, filming and producing bite-sized documentaries that explore the world of artisan food. Showcased on her website Food Curated, Liza’s warm, intimate films tell tales of culinary projects – from the ideas that sparked them to the philosophies behind them..

“These are love stories,” Liza tells us, her eyes wide and familiar. “These are people pouring their hearts out, their passion and their soul.” Since launching the site in 2009, Liza has created more than 200 films, shedding light on small businesses such as SCRATCHbread, The Regal Vegan and Grazin. Before launching Food Curated, Liza worked for Plum TV, a lifestyle network based in the Hamptons, and soon began focusing solely on food and the stories behind it.

She moved back to New York when she recognised a gap in the market to expose niche food brands through film. “Things just fell into place,” she explains. “It happened to be this perfect storm of opportunity because at the time, nobody was doing short-form videos on a weekly basis, so this was an entirely new concept. Food was just starting to hot up around then.”

Through her network Liza has highlighted the tireless work that goes into creating the foods we love. “I know there are more stories to tell,” Liza says, “and I’m ready to tell them.”
