The Chandelier Bar

If a life goal is to drink champagne cocktails inside a giant chandelier, then you’ll need to head to The Cosmopolitan hotel’s famous bar so you can do just that. Sipping bubbles inside a beaded sanctuary, separated from the casino by shimmering crystal curtains, you’ll feel as if you’ve been transported straight to a James Bond set. Shimmy into one of the bar’s three levels – 1.5 is place to be – and order the “We’re All Mad Here”. An ode to Alice in Wonderland, the drink changes colour once blended and even comes with an edible tag.

Located in Mirage, 1OAK predominantly plays hip-hop and aims to bring a flavour of New York to Las Vegas nightlife. The club’s lounge-like space and open-plan dance floor make it easier to hold a conversation than at most other night spots. Expect appearances from the likes of Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa, and a fair amount of wannabes.

Herbs and Rye

A refreshing speakeasy vibe in a city that favours dramatic entrances. This moody Downtown restaurant and lounge bar serves classic American and Italian fare alongside handcrafted
‘gothic age’ and ‘golden age’ cocktails. Their happy hour is very happy indeed, offering 50 per cent off all of their steaks.

La Comida

This Mexican restaurant is headed by the developer of La Cave at the Wynn and lies at the end of a whimsical, flower-filled walkway in Downtown Las Vegas. The food here is good but the tequila and cocktails are better. The choice of indoor and outdoor seating make it a popular choice for start-of-the-night drinks.
