Atelier Paolo Milani

To the town’s most discerning style mavens, Paolo is a local hero and his workshop is a cave of wonders, draped in all manner of billowing cloths and painstakingly sourced fabric offcuts, while his dresses are full-figured and exuberant, like relics pulled from the costume cupboard of La Dolce Vita circa 1960.

This is an endearing boutique where big-name brands like Dries Van Noten and Isabel Marant sit alongside vintage finds and selected titbits from crafty, small-batch designers. It has sibling stores in Bassano and Porto Rotondo but retains a loyal, local following.

Dada is a sheeny-shiny concept store which aims to broach the divide between fashion and contemporary art – not necessarily the sort of thing you expect to find behind one of Pietrasanta’s old, pastel-painted façades. Brands like Comme des Garçons and LeMaire line the racks. We’re calling it Pietrasanta’s answer to Dover Street Market.
