Tarifa

Spend too many hours here when you should be in the library. Good wine, good cocktails and a brilliant courtyard. If a hangover is proving especially heavy, come back for brunch the next day.

Isis Farmhouse

It’s a slight trek, with relatively limited opening hours (check in advance) but this pub on the canal is hard to beat. In summer, grab a table under the trees and watch the rowers go by. In winter, hide from the cold on a sofa by the fire.

Frevd

A cocktail bar from 1988 set in a deconsecrated church, this space in historic Jericho is great if you want to sit and sip in splendour. Keep an eye out for live music nights too.
