Six Beautiful Boutique Hotels and Romantic Retreats in Corfu

Tue, 11 June 2019

Getting our fill of sun, sea and souvlaki, Corfu is one of our favourite summer outposts. The islet harbours some pretty special properties too; here are six of the best hotels to bed down on the Greek Islands.

MarBella Nido Suite Hotel & Villas

Come here for a taste of the Mediterranean good life. Positioned on Corfu’s quiet south-east coast (25 minutes by car from Corfu Town), MarBella Nido Suite Hotel & Villas has an adults-only policy, ensuring maximum zen for the duration of your stay. We’re dividing our days between the Cinq Mondes spa and dinner at Apaggio.

Domes Miramare

Once the summer playground of the Onassis family, we’re donning our best Pucci headscarves and following in Jackie O’s stylish steps in the direction of Domes Miramare. Here, olive trees skirt the pool and gardens while a private champagne-service boat ferries guests up and down the Corfu coast – it’s all really rather nice. Child-free and Sixties-heyday vibes up the appeal.

Cassina House

This luxury villa sits on exclusive estate in north-east Corfu. With the Ionian Sea for your neighbour and five acres of privacy, it shouldn’t be a strenuous task rounding up 14 of your favourite people for a week of R&R. Nearby Kassiopi has plenty of restaurants and bars to explore – but its the waterside tavernas (accessible only by boat) that we’re salivating over.

Aphrodite Corfu Villas

When choosing between a restored cottage in an olive-grove location and traditional studios right on the water is the toughest decision you need to make, you know it’s holiday time. Located between Messonghi and Lefkimmi, Aphrodite Corfu Villas are at the perfect mid-point to access all the south’s best bits – although with accommodations as cushty as these it’s hard to consider the islet’s other highlights.

San Stefano Estate

Citrus trees, olive groves and gardens abound at San Stefano Estate. Beyond the verdant grounds, the views aren’t too shabby either. With vistas stretching across the Corfu Channel to mainland Greece, drink in the welcomed sea breeze of the Ionian before turning heel and retreating to the front of the house. Here you’ll spot the private chapel of St Stephen and old farm buildings while inside, book-lined walls signal a weekend of restoration and reflection.

With its salmon facade and turquoise shutters, Satori lands on the right side of preppy. All 12 rooms have been recently renovated and combine contemporary furniture with neutral tones to counter a more chipper exterior. Acharavi is the closest beach – and a very doable commute (you’ll be there in a matter of minutes). From affordability to its beachside location this one ticks all the right boxes.
