Seeking a hilltop hamlet or perhaps a coastal cottage in Sardinia? Our edit of the island’s best hotels has you covered.
Designed as a romantic getaway for adults, Petra Segreta Resort & Spa’s close positioning to Olbia’s beautiful beaches is a real sell. Matching the hotel’s farmhouse style, the on-site restaurant Il Fuoco Sacro is best enjoyed under the bamboo-roof veranda.
2. Su Gologone
Creative types will appreciate the brightly coloured traditional textiles that accent whitewashed rooms here. Should inspiration strike, take to the garden and join the hotel’s scheduled art classes.
A self-proclaimed “terrace over the sea”, this hotel inspires a floaty feeling shortly after arrival. Lean in to it and relax and recharge at the hotel’s Chia Natural Spa.
Whatever you do while in Sardinia, make sure to book dinner at Sa Cantina, Cala Cuncheddi’s in-house restaurant (and opt for the personal tasting menu). After supper, retreat to your sanguine quarters to digest (and dream about) your dinner.
If we had our say, we’d rename ourselves Petra Bianca. Surrounded by beautiful Mediterranian flora and fauna, this hotel is really rather pretty (hence the name change). Neighbouring glamorous Porto Cervo, the hotel makes a debaucherous night out is tempting to say the least.
Hotel Corte Bianca feels like it was built with sunsets in mind. Opt for one of the suites, complete with a terrace, a built-in garden and a jacuzzi tub for two.
Coupled up? This one’s for you (two). Plotted in the little fishing village of Isola Rossa, its rooms are maritime inspired and we’ve fallen hook, line and sinker.
This small boutique hotel has a chill vibe. Surrounds are minimalist but textured – think jute rugs and linen drapes. We suggest dressing accordingly: kaftans and Castañers all round.
Close to the bay of Porto Frailis, the salmon-hued Hotel La Bitta is easy to spot along the shoreline. There’s a lot we could say about this pretty spot… but the intricate tile work on the floor and at the head of the beds has us distracted.
