Bell boy cocktail bar Tel avivBell Boy

As Israel’s most forward-thinking city, it should come as no surprise that Tel Aviv’s cocktail culture is on par with its thriving foodie scene. Tel Aviv has one of the best bar scenes in the Middle East with curated menus and an ever-growing list of star mixologists. This international hub turns a drink with a friend into an art form. Here’s where you should grab a cold, infused or muddled one the next time you’re in town. We give you the best bars in Tel Aviv:

Imperial

Since its opening in January 2013, Imperial Craft Cocktail Bar has set the standard for the cocktail scene in Tel Aviv and really the entire region, having been named the Middle East’s best bar by Drinks International. Hidden in a hotel of the same name, the Imperial’s creations are delicious works of art. Try the ‘bullet to the head’ cocktail which comes with actual bullets.

Hide & Seek

True to its name, this trendy cocktail bar is tucked away on Brenner Street in the centre of the city. With an extensive cocktail list curated with seasonal ingredients, Hide & Seek is the perfect place to spend an evening. Want to play another game of hide and seek? Check out the secret garden in the backyard.

223

Step up your beer and pizza game. How about a spicy apple martini with homemade focaccia, spicy tomato salsa and aubergine cream? Deliciously crafted pairings are exactly what you’ll find at cocktail bar 223. More than your average bar fare, 223 has mastered the art of boozy bites that keep their regulars coming back for more.

Bellboy

Located in the Berdichevsky hotel, the Bellboy bar has the same speakeasy vibe and excellent cocktails as many bars in Tel Aviv, but it’s definitely a little weirder than the others. Expect your place setting to remind you of the Mad Hatter’s tea party in Alice and Wonderland – you’ll find miniature golden hippos, rubber duckies or even a singing sea bass on your table.
