Get ready for some serious R&R (rest and retox) at this boutique Ibiza hotel, offering sunrise yoga, cocktails by the pool and uninterrupted views of olive groves.
There are two sides to the White Isle: revelry and relaxation. Apparently you can have your cake and eat it – staying at Cas Gasi allows you to experience both sides of Ibiza’s personality in one fell swoop. Enjoy the best parts of a traditional retreat but without a rigid structure, giving you time to explore the island, then make tracks to the multitude of gorgeous beaches and thumping bars.
Tucked away in the rural heart of the island, this boutique offering may be only a 20-minute drive to Ibiza Old Town, but it feels worlds away from the buzzy tapas restaurants and speeding mopeds. The family-owned hotel is a real home away from home, making it the ideal escape any time of the year.
There are 12 bedrooms each decorated individually with thoughtful details and objects providing a personal touch. Most of the rooms are in the main farmhouse, with the remaining suites dotted around the grounds. You’re guaranteed a deep sleep (it is possible in Ibiza) thanks to peaceful surroundings and heavenly damask bed linen.
What’s for breakfast?
Guests can enjoy a bountiful buffet breakfast, including a typical Spanish omelette, an indulgent selection of smoked salmon, cold meats and cheeses, as well as the more wholesome options of coconut yoghurt and chia pots. There is also a menu of tempting dishes such as avocado toast, omelettes packed with whatever you choose and an acai bowl that almost resembles sorbet.
How about lunch and dinner?
The restaurant offers a Mediterranean lunch and dinner menu, as well as snacks such as fresh calamari that are available to order throughout the day. We recommend taking yours by the pool. Dishes are based on seasonal produce and many of the ingredients are home-grown (such as the cold-pressed olive oil) or sourced locally.
Is there a bar?
Overlooking the pool, no less, which couldn’t be more perfect a spot for a cocktail. Come evening, drink in the golden hour from your bar stool as the sun sets over the olive groves.
Those looking for some R&R have come to the right place as the hotel offers an open-air yoga studio (with classes at 8.30am daily) and a Moroccan-inspired spa and gym, as well as the pristine pool. Enjoy sun-soaked days lazing next to it on your sunlounger as you gaze at the surrounding olive groves and endless countryside.
Things I should know…
Cas Gasi is home to two charming dogs who will make it even harder for you to leave at the end of your stay.
It would be advisable to hire a car for your stay (this can be arranged through the hotel). It is only a short drive to some of the island’s best beaches and 20 minutes to Ibiza Town.
Within a short walk I can find…
Hundreds of olive trees, as well as orange groves and organic vegetable plots, which can all be explored by bicycle (available to borrow from the hotel).
If you’re keen for a walk, venture to nearby Santa Gertrudis – known as the Notting Hill of Ibiza for its quirky shops, bohemian vibe and restaurant offering.
