Aimé

Aimé has expanded from its original home in Westbourne Grove to the ever-trendy Redchurch Street. Selling all the most stylish Parisienne labels including Isabel Marant, A.P.C., Masscob and Forte Forte. Think Clémence Poésy with that effortless chic that the French always seem to get so right.

Aida

This cool concept store showcases an amazing selection of clothes for both men and women in an industrial interior. Just in case you’re not tempted already, you’ll also find a vintage beauty salon and café inside. Browse the mix of indie chic clothing labels while sipping on a cup of coffee, or imagine you are back in the 1930s getting your hair and make-up done.

Boxpark

Built out of shipping containers, Boxpark is a pop-up shopping mall next to Shoreditch High Street station. Not your average retail park, it’s filled with a mix of innovative local and global fashion brands, as well as cafés, restaurants and galleries. Take a stroll around the shops before heading to the upper deck for some hearty street-food-style fare, washed down with a cold craft beer or rum punch.

Sunspel

Founded in 1860 Sunspel has a history of quality, a true pioneer of British craftsmanship committed to simple, everyday clothing using the finest materials and old-fashioned techniques. Originally just a menswear store they now also have a line for women.

Son of a Stag

The Son of a Stag stocks several mid-range designers and specialise in denim; the owner is an expert and they stock a wide variety of denim brands including the uber cool Japanese specialists EDWIN along with the classic Levi’s and Wranglers. The majority of the stock is menswear, however, there is a small yet sleek range devoted to ladies. Its alluring window displays can be admired from the smoking area in The Big Chill bar opposite, it can be a tempting to indulge in a post-drink spree.

The Goodhood Store

Having become synonymous with effortless style, Goodhood has a well-chosen array of independent brands for both men and women. Spread over two floors, the interior is decked out in hanging plants, wooden fixtures and large light displays. Also stocking homeware, stationary and beauty/grooming products, this is the place to go for chic lifestyle goodies.

Maiden

Situated on Shoreditch High Street, Maiden is a quirky gift shop full of fun and silly oddities. Books, jewellery, kitchenware or toys, Maiden has the terrific gifts for all ages. Be sure to pop in, whether or not you are in need of a present for someone, as the shop’s entertaining selection is bound to put a smile on your face.

Article

The founder of contemporary clothing online retailer urbanexcess.com has opened up Article, using the same design and wide aray of labels as the website. The brightly lit store is full of Obey t-shirts and cycle-friendly Swedish backpacks and always buzzy and vibrant with youthful customers.

Glassworks

A cutting-edge womenswear store that offers a mix of hand picked affordable brands alongside concessions such as Australian brand Sass & Bide, and Helmut Lang. The secret to shopping in this store is confidence – the bold colours and shapes the clothing are not for those who like to keep it simple.

SCP

Housed in an old mattress factory in the middle of the Shoreditch triangle, SCP is one of London’s largest design stores. Spread over two floors and featuring both international brands and SCP’s own designs, expect to find beautiful contemporary furniture, lighting and home accessories.

Labour and Wait

For the budding domestic goddess, Labour and Wait is a haven of kitchenware. The small shop makes you feel like you’ve stepped back about 60 years in time with its range of practical goods, all with a simple, classic design – a refreshing change to the complex gadgets of today. The shop also has a small selection of vintage clothing and old-fashioned gifts that are worth perusing.

Modern Society

Founded and curated by Nazifa Movsoumova, Modern Society brings together beautiful clothing, accessories, art, homeware and locally sourced food. With a playlist as well-chosen as the products, you could spend hours discovering new designers (we particularly like Sandy Liang), finding thoughtful and unique gifts or flicking through an independent magazine over the Modbar’s signature ‘coffee tonic’ and a brownie.

Artwords

Stocked floor-to-ceiling with independent magazines and books, Artwords’ publications specialise in subjects spanning fashion, graphic design, architecture, photography and fine art. You’ll lose yourself for hours browsing their collection of up-to-date books from all over Europe, America and Australia – perfect for the beloved bookworm in your life.

JW Anderson Workshop

Expect an ever-changing collection of exhibitions, installations and events at this not-so-ordinary flagship store. Jonathan Anderson has collaborated with musicians and ceramicists, with different artists taking the spotlight each month at his store on Shoreditch High Street. Also selling limited-edition products, the concept takes its inspiration from Bloomsbury Group’s Omega Workshops and offers a wholly unique experience.

Sister Ray

Taking its name from a song by the Velvet Underground, this record store is located inside the quirky Ace Hotel. With another branch in Soho, pick up new music as well as old releases and second-hand vinyl. With music spanning a whole range of tastes, this is a top spot if you want to update your record collection – or find that perfect, ever-elusive record for somebody else. Check out their website for updates on in store live music sessions.
