From sofa seat cinemas to the London’s first ever cat café, we’ve sourced the best places to stay, eat, drink, visit and shop in London’s idiosyncratic East End area: Shoreditch.

To Stay

Shoreditch House

In the heart of London’s gentrified East End, Shoreditch House is a converted warehouse where guests enjoy a chic and comfortable stay. With several bars, restaurants, a pool on the roof, a Cowshed Spa and bowling alley for private hire, Shoreditch House has everything you need and more. While the rooms aren’t huge, the views are great – make sure you visit the hotel’s Lazy Lawn open air space for stunning panoramas of the city skyline.

The Ace Hotel

From the sixties’ style furniture and revo radios in the rooms to the converse- clad staff, this trendy hotel epitomises Shoreditch’s eclectic culture. Just a ten- minute walk from Liverpool Street Station, it is ideal for families or couples looking to explore London’s tourist attractions while balancing it out with a dose of some East-end cool. The hotel’s restaurant Hoi Polloi, a modernist english brasserie, and bar render The Ace worthy of a visit whether you’re a guest or not.

The Hoxton Hotel

The hotel adheres to a ‘no nonsense’ policy; it gives you everything your heart could desire: free wifi, water and a healthy breakfast to-go of orange juice, fresh milk, fruit and granola pots, and then leaves you to your own devices. Although the decor is stylish throughout, it is worth requesting one of the eight concept rooms for no extra fee – we particularly like the Salt Beef and Mustard Room . Note, while the hotel may be chilled during the day, by night it becomes a bustling and vibrant place so it is probably more suited for those without young children.
