The narrow, meandering road that leads down to this isolated bay invites a long-haul stay on this beautiful sandy beach. The water is wonderfully clear, so the sea here is popular with snorkelers. And of course there is the famous rock of Bennirás, protruding from the water and only a short distance away. The beach has two decent restaurants, but it’s the smoothie shack that’s got everyone excited: each drink is packed full of much-needed nutrients to counteract last night’s toxins, leaving you feeling restored and refreshed. Check out the late night drumming sessions on a Sunday evening when local folk beat down the sun.
Las Dalias Hippy Market at San Carlos
It’s not surprising that the White Isle manifests its artistic roots through markets and street stalls. While each market has its own charm and character, Las Dalinas in San Carlos every Saturday is simply irresistible. On offer you’ll find a huge range of products, from musical instruments to beaded bags and unique clothing pieces, but the one thing all these items share is handmade heritage. There are other activities happening throughout the day at Las Dalinas, including children’s games and storytelling, as well as food and drink stalls. There are many artsy markets dotted around Ibiza everyday of the week, so don’t fret if your Friday night extends and runs well into Saturday, but make sure you get down to one of these wonderful creative hubs during your stay.
You might end your night looking like you’ve been dragged through the sand, but you don’t have to start it that way. Blowout Ibiza will come to your hotel room and do your hair and makeup before a night out on the town (prices start at €60). Ham it up for Pacha with The Tribalist hair style, or play it cool at DC10 with The Sun Sleeker.
Just a 40-minute ferry ride from Ibiza, Formentera is the stuff that dreams are made of. The island’s rustic charm and cool, crystal-blue waters deserve to be known the world over but thank God they are not. If you’re making a trip from Ibiza, choose one of the fish restaurants dotted along the coast of Illetas beach and settled down for the day. We love the relaxed vibe and fresh fish of the day at La Pirata.
