Lost Heaven

With sultry lighting, carved chairs and spectacular views across the Bund, this French Concession favourite is the perfect mix between atmospheric 1920s interiors and the city’s fines regional cuisine. You know you’ve hit on a winner when there’s a queue of locals outside waiting for up to two hours for a table. Offering what is often described as the best dim sum west of Hong Kong, this restaurant is packed throughout the day with large families who come for the heaving trolleys of piping-hot pork dumplings and spicy xiaolongbaos. Arrive at 12PM sharp to beat the crowds.
