Le Cap Horn

Cited as one of the top 10 mountain restaurants in the world, this is the place to be while you’re in Courchevel. Expectedly pricey, but not unusual for this neighbourhood, it’s famed for its seafood platters filled with fish freshly flown in daily. The sprawling sun terrace is one of the best people-watching spots in Courchevel, situated near Altiport, you can watch guests roll-in off their private jets. Don’t leave after lunch however, there’s a resident DJ.

Le Chabichou

This was the first restaurant in Courchevel to be awarded two Michelin stars, way back in 1984. Led by world-famous chef Stéphane Buron, the restaurant prides itself on its international reputation. The refined, yet generous cuisine is prepared with natural and fresh ingredients every day. It’s not one for those on a budget, but a must for a special occasion.

La Soucoupe

This romantic refuge is nestled at the top of the slopes. The owner takes pride in greeting her guests individually, so much so that she is known by name among the rich and famous visitors. All meat dishes are grilled on an open fire and for wine connoisseurs, the cellar is quite spectacular. Don’t leave without trying the Pain Perdu.

Bel-Air Courchevel

Perched at the top of the gondola l’Ariondaz, Bel-Air is a favoured eatery among locals. Not as bank-breaking as its neighbours, it offers a snack-like menu ideal for a quick bite, delicious tartiflette or a mouth-watering plat-du-jour with prices starting around 26 euros. The modest price tag means that its 300 seats are usually fully booked by 10:00am every day – make sure to reserve one.

Le Bouc Blanc

Renowned as the best value place in both Courchevel and Méribel, Le Bouc Blanc has a magnificent outdoor terrace with mountain views, a roaring log fire, cosy bar and a delightful two-storey wood-clad restaurant. It boasts a delectable Savoyard menu and the plat du jour ranges from a warming beef bourguignon to eight other specialities. Located 2,000m at La Tania bubble, it’s easily accessible to skiers or those on foot.
