This concept store tucked in a corner of Sheung Wan celebrates music, fashion and art. The store regularly hosts music nights and in-store presentations, and showcases the coolest in-the-know creatives including designers to photographers and music makers. Once a week, the store also live streams independent radio station, Fauve Radio (think of it as a super-niche Boiler Room).

Yat Pit

Homegrown Hong Kong fashion brand by cool kid designers On-Ying Lai and Jason Mui has been making waves, thanks to its modern but edgy interpretation of traditional Chinese fashion. The idea? The cheongsam isn’t just a fad or “one-time look”, but something that should be a staple like the LBD. Its workshop, located in Sham Shui Po is open to all, but best to drop them a DM on Instagram before stopping by.

With no sales tax or VAT, Hong Kong is one of the best places to buy luxury goods, and your first stop should be Joyce. The luxury boutique stocks the most in-demand labels – Loewe, Attico, Jacquemus, and the like. Bargain hunters should head straight to the Joyce Warehouse in Horizon Plaza for off-season items sold at a discount of at least 20 per cent or more. There’s also a Marni outlet.

Yuet Tung China Works

A third-generation ceramics warehouse in Kowloon filled to the brim with fine china, this is the last remaining hand-painted porcelain factory in the city, and you’ll often see the artisans at work in its warehouse. It sells stacks of everything from plates to vases, while several of the city’s high-end hotels and restaurants have bespoke China produced here, as can you. A great option for souvenirs.

Nita Fashions

Hong Kong is home to some of the best (and most affordable) tailors in the world and that’s a fact. Load up your mood board and head straight to Nita Fashions in Tsim Sha Tsui. It’s one of the best tailors on the island, with over 60 staff – this is fast fashion at its most fantastic and bespoke. Be warned – with floor-to-ceiling fabric and button choices, this place makes it easy to lose hours.
