Laura Put Barcelona

Barcelona-born Laura Put is a DJ and actress living in Madrid. At 17 she decided to try her hand on the decks at a local party. From that local party she moved on to score a residency at Barcelona superclub Razzmatazz and she hasn’t looked back since.

Laura throws parties with music that makes you want to dance, which for her means 80s and 90s pop: “When I’m djing I just want to see people having fun, so I play happy songs that make you want to sing and dance all night long – just the hits.”

She plays in both Madrid and Barcelona, at clubs and for special fashion events (her clients have included Tommy Hillfiger, H&M, Nike, Reebok and Pepe Jeans) and doesn’t seem to have an absolutist attitude when it comes to comparing the cities. Despite the notorious rivalry, she gives both cities a shining review.

“In Madrid you can go out every night. There are so many different parties with different kinds of music. It’s very common to go out for a beer and end up dancing at a club. In Barcelona, the best clubs open during the weekend. But you have the best music festivals and the latest trends. Barcelona is more European and Madrid more castiza” (meaning very Spanish or from Madrid).

Here Laura gives us her guide to both Barcelona and Madrid nightlife:
