This store is living proof that Bangkok has transformed into a very trendy pocket of South East Asia. It’s a communal space that houses a very decent coffee roasting joint, café, and store that focuses on artisan products. Find leather goods, glasses, heritage tees, moccasins, loafers, backpacks and denim. It’s the Thai translation of ‘Brooklyn’ (because most of these kids studied States-side).

Thai furniture, tableware and textiles come together in their simply elegant form, housed by walls of sandstone. A stand-alone building in the middle of Bangkok’s gentrified (and very trendy) neck of the woods, Paya represents the calm nature of Thai culture and is a powerful reminder of the amazing things that human hands can do. You will wish you had a shipping container to take everything home in, like their oversized outdoor pots.

Organic food and skincare is becoming more popular here in Thailand, and you can find a great spread of natural, locally made products. Stock up on handmade soaps, spa products, curry pastes and old school sweets to take home. You should also look for organic rice to take back too, it’s really fragrant and delicious. Afterwards, make sure you also pop over to the Eat Thai food court to try some super authentic cuisine from all over the country.

Siam Center

If you want to get a little idea about the Thai fashion scene, head straight to the third floor of Siam Center. All of the local labels you need to see are in the one spot, and if your dogs are barking from too much exploring, have a Thai toast snack at the Greyhound Cafe. It comes with some super nostalgic toppings like pandan custard and condensed milk!

You can’t go to Bangkok and not get yourself a bonkers phone case or super cheap electronic whats-it. Who knows? maybe you really DO need a giant rubber spongebob phone case, personalised stickers and photo mug.
