As I’m currently living in L.A., I couldn’t exactly miss out on a music festival that was happening (pretty much) on my door step. So as a newly relocated expat I decided to embark on the two hour drive to Palm Springs to witness the famous Coachella festival. With two great girls in tow, Jazzy De Lisser and Adwoa, the adventure began.

I had been advised to rent a Jeep Wrangler for the road trip but I decided to take my Mini Cooper convertible as it’s easier to drive. Unsurprisingly we got lost and it took as an entire 5 hours to arrive at our hotel. The girls and I were staying in Swallows Lodge, a peaceful paradise that has been turned into a retreat with facials, massages and manicures on offer all day everyday (sounds heavenly right!?).

Everybody knows the parties surrounding the music festival are almost as good as the festival itself. We didn’t waste much time and soon after we arrived, we headed to the Coach party and then Soho House had organised a pop-up venue for afterwards. Coachella was overall a very fun trip but I wouldn’t say it was my favourite music festival. Basically, if you want to look at pretty girls and well dressed musical watchers then Coachella is right for you.
