Inspired by the area’s first pharmacy, Pharmarium is positioned right on Stortorget in the Old Town. Dark-wood walls, chinoiserie carpets and antique tincture bottles combine to create the ultimate drinking den. Serving some of the best tipples in Stockholm, a changing roster of creative drinks infused with herbs, spices and pop rocks are available from the green marble bar. If you’re feeling peckish, ask about the snack pairings, specifically designed to complement individual cocktails. A DJ keeps the party going late into the night.

This industrial-chic bar and restaurant is a bit of a Gemini. The more formal restaurant features white-clothed tables offset by vintage chairs with scrumptious swerves and a chilled atmosphere. Downstairs, a hip crowd hang out, play ping-pong and dance to DJ sets in a cavernous white-tiled space.

Located in the reformed Brunkebergstorg district, TAK has been buzzing since it opened in the summer 2017. The restaurant on the 13th floor, is decked out in Nordic-Japanese design – a fusion that crosses over to the food, and the 14th floor rooftop bar. Order Eurasian cocktails, served in delicate ochoko (sake cups) and set up camp on the rooftop terrace for the day. Open from 3pm, it’s all sprouting greenery, fairy lights strewn from corner to corner, furnishings worthy of a Pinterest board and live music. Come morning, there’s yoga on the roof for early risers (or those never got home from the night before).

Open until 2am most nights, Lilla Baren is a crowded, rowdy bar and one that we’d far rather queue for hours to get into than sit nextdoor, drink in hand, wishing we’d stuck out the queue. The crowd is young and creative – namely artists, musicians and the fashion set. With it’s whimsical interiors, Lilla Baren’s 1950s style stucco walls give off a Gaudi-meets-Marie-Antoinette vibe. Glasses tinker on chandelier-style driers and that seem to be calling out for their next margarita pour. Just be sure you’re not tampering with an artwork by up-and-coming artists at the bar’s monthly exhibitions.

On the second floor at Nosh and Chow, Bernies & Mono is a late-night club from Wednesday to Saturday. It’s inner courtyard comprises of several bars – perfect for the fickle among you. Part of a townhouse designed by Spanish architect Lázaro Rosa-Violán (Les Chouettes, Paris and Cotton House Hotel, Barcelona) expect parquet floors, dramatic lighting and a touch of Parisian glamour.
