tranquil haven in the Big Smoke, it is adorned with contemporary
art and eclectic furnishings from across the globe, while a
tree-filled private garden helps to offset the hotel’s carbon
footprint. Rooms, some benefitting from private outdoor spaces, are

bathrooms kitted out with sustainable toiletries from local London
brand Miller Harris.

much adventure, excitement and imagination as a child’s treehouse,
Treehouse London is designed with nostalgia in mind. Pared-back
rooms feature exposed-concrete walls and ceilings, while charming
touches such as soft toys perch on beds. Reclaimed-wood furnishings
give the hotel an outdoorsy atmosphere, while it also runs

toiletries.

The Zetter

Clerkenwell

This boutique hotel sits pretty in historical Clerkenwell. A
converted 19th-century warehouse, the it pairs original features
with stylish, contemporary design and eco-friendly tech galore.
Sustainable systems are rife in the hotel: water is pumped from a
1500ft borehole which means that the building is self sustaining,
while an energy loop system simultaneously heats rooms and cools
down refrigerators. There’s an energy-saving occupancy detection
system installed bedrooms, too, and all timber and paints are
environmentally friendly. If that isn’t enough, the hotel’s
restaurant only uses seasonal ingredients sourced from local
suppliers – cosy up with a cocktail amid retro lamps and
velvet-upholstered chairs to feast on plates of classic British
dishes (be sure to try the charcuterie and cheese boards, served
with homemade crackers and seasonal chutney).

furnishings in the lounge to the wood-lined en suites and
