Relay your drink order to the unsettlingly beautiful staff on
the roof at Tel Aviv’s most-hyped hotel. The infinity-edged pool is
a welcome escape from Tel Aviv’s stifling heat – lap up your time
on the deck before the pool closes at sunset.

You’ll need an advanced reservation to hang out at The
Standard’s “full-fledged playground in the sky”. Stroll down the
red AstroTurf deck and set up by the outdoor fireplace. With a
heated swimming pool to dip in-and-out of and waterbed pods made
for siestas you’re likely to be here from AM to PM.

Ride up to the 8th floor to Fasano’s infinity pool. Overlooking the beach, the vista (encompassing Arpoador, Morro Dois Irmãos and Corcovado) vies for your attention but the pool bar wins out. Sample a menu of light dishes and sippable cocktails to a soundtrack of Sinatra’s Girl from Ipanema.

This residents-only rooftop pool is plotted at the apex of some seriously sought-after real estate. Brutalist is the aesthetic here. Grab a bean bag a suitable distance from the stylish (but hazardous) cacti, order some lunch to your sun lounger and chill out.

Injecting a free-spirited attitude into Miami’s downtown financial district, SLS Brickell flaunts 55 storeys (yep, seriously) of sleek design peppered with plenty of whimsical touches. Interiors by Philippe Starck feature contemporary artworks and sculptures, while artist Markus Linnenbrink’s enormous, colourful mural is impossible to miss. Hop between the hotel’s two rooftop pools, before feasting on Italian fare at in-house Fi’lia restaurant. If the truffle pizza is on the menu, order two, and snag a side dish of crispy potatoes, too.
