The Carry On: August 2020

Carry On is our monthly round-up of our favourite travel
items we’d happily haul from Stansted to Seville, Heathrow to Hydra. Be it a functional fedora or the latest in
skincare science, we’ve probably got it in our carry on. Riffing on
the adage “if you can think it, you can be it”, we’re saying: “If
you can jam it in your carry on… you can bring it.” Catchy.

Note: weight restrictions and other practicalities do not

Bandeau bikini tops, beach jewellery and Italian style – here’s
what we’re coveting this month…

Costa printed bandeau bikini top

Tory Burch

Found: the sweetest bandeau bikini ever. Tory Burch’s Costa
bikini top is made from an Italian-sourced stretch fabric with SPF
50+ protection and is sure to bring a playful vibe to your vacation
edit. As suited to splashing around as it is for hanging on dry
land, this snug and shapely bandeau is especially accommodating for
smaller busts (and great for minimising tan lines too). Complete
the equation with the matching bikini bottoms in the label’s
whimsical Legacy Paisley motif.

Etere lemon-print silk-twill trousers

ISSIMO X F.R.S. For Restless Sleepers

Following the success of The Grand Tour Italy in 2019,
MATCHESFASHION has partnered up with Marie-Louise Sciò and
Pellicano Hotels once again to launch a collective of high-summer
capsules as part of Sciò’s ISSIMO – a lifestyle platform that
celebrates the very best of Italian style, design and culture. The
collections span swimwear, homeware, handbags, nightwear and
ready-to-wear, working in collaboration with Solid & Striped,
Lisa Corti, Anya Hindmarch, Loretta Caponi and F.R.S respectively.
Uplifting pieces ideal for sunny climates (or relaxing closer to
home) abound. Of the lust-worthy lot, these lemon-print silk-twill
trousers really caught our attention. Liberace-style
sleepwear-as-daywear – we can’t say with confidence we’ll ever take
it off.
