should head to Cranwell Spa in Lenox for a few hours of massages,
swimming and smoothies following a day of hiking in the region’s
mountains. Six Depot Roastery and Café in west Stockbridge is a
favourite for midday fuel – the kale caesar and local pan-seared
tempeh are heavenly.

When to go

Summer is a fabulous time of year for music lovers to visit, as
the Tanglewood Music Centre hosts daily concerts as well as a
Festival of Contemporary Music at the end of July.
The area is a fantastic destination year-round however, with apple
picking during the autumn months, easy access to skiing in winter
and idyllic weather for exploring towns come springtime.
