Not Just A Shop: Is Maiyet London’s Coolest Concept Store?

This
season, London welcomes an exciting new retail and lifestyle
destination in the form of a concept store by Maiyet, the renowned
ethical luxury brand which works closely with artisans and
craftspeople to create sustainable yet sumptuous pieces. The store,
which is the first of its kind and designed by the Cavendish
Studios collective, will stock the brand’s entire AW16 collection,
alongside interiors, flowers, food, gifts and skincare from
like-minded partners, such as Tom Dixon, Silka Ritton-Thomas of The
TukTuk Flower Studio, Tata Harper and Phaidon. More than just a
shop, the space will play host to live music, poetry readings, film
screenings and even magic shows, offering what founder Paul Van Zyl
calls “an approach to the world that is fun, curious, stylish and
considered.”

The Mayfair space will also house Jasmine Hemsley’s first solo
project, the East x West pop-up café which pairs ancient Ayurvedic
food principles with fresh British seasonal ingredients. This
emphasis on locality is present throughout the store, from the
locally sourced flowers used by Tuk Tuk, to the Cornish clay with
which artisans crafted the in-store installation, which is designed
to dissolve back to the natural materials from which it was formed
leaving no environmental footprint.

The Maiyet concept store is at 41 Conduit Street, W1S 2YQ
until Christmas.
