Lockdown
3.0. We may be stuck at home, but our minds are busy
manifesting future travel plans. In the spirit of looking onwards
and upwards, we’ve had a chat with the folks at The Standard
to offer you and a friend the chance to win a two-night stay at one
of the suavest hotels in London.

The hotel group’s first outpost outside the US set, well, a new
standard for London’s crash pads when it took residence in a
brutalist building – the former Camden Town Hall Annex – in summer
2019.

Come for the funky 70s decor – glossy teak, geometric shapes,
shag-pile rugs and low-rise leather sofas – and stay (for two
nights, on us) for the kitsch bedrooms and strong drinks served at
the hotel’s TfL-inspired bar-cum-restaurant, Double Standard.

It’s here, after bedding down in a Junior Suite Terrace, that
you’ll breakfast on the likes of banana pancakes and poached eggs
sloshed with chimichurri. You’ll enjoy a dinner on the house too.
Our order? A high-low combo of a classic hot dog and champagne

Up in your room on the ninth floor – only the best views in the
house for our competition winner – there’s a cool, Californian
accent to the mid-century vibe. Cabin fever is best burned off on
the in-room Peloton bike, but if you’re anything like us, the only
exercise you’ll be doing is swanning between the well-stocked
minibar and jet-powered tub on the terrace.

“WHAT ABOUT LOCKDOWN?!” we hear you cry. No worries; the prize
is valid until February 2022. It’s all groovy, baby.
