Château De Chillon
The medieval island castle of Château de Chillon, just outside Montreux, is the most visited historic building in Switzerland, partly thanks to the poem Lord Byron was inspired to write after visiting it in 1816.

From Vevey, the Train des Vignes wends its way through the Lavaux wine region. You can explore most of the area on foot, but to make the most of it, book a wine tour and get full access to tiny bars and picturesque vineyards, such as Les 11 Terres, Gaillard and Les Frères Dubois.
