As a roll call of festivals and performances are cancelled due to the coronavirus lockdown, artists and cultural organisations are moving their work online. In this first installation of a three-part series, we're spotlighting the concerts and shows to tune into from the safety of your sofa, including Christine and the Queens, The National Theatre and Anthony Hopkins serenading his cat.

Having made its name by staging secret gigs and intimate concerts by emerging artists, Sofar Sounds has now launched the daily Listening Room livestream to support independent musicians through the pandemic. Viewers can donate to artists directly or to the Sofar Global artist fund.

Billboard has begun live-streaming performances from musicians' homes, with each artist donating proceeds to charity. It's a diverse line-up featuring Skip Marley, Melissa Etheridge, Meghan Trainor and Kenny G. Past episodes are available to watch on demand.

As the 150-year-old concert hall closes its doors, the Royal Albert Home series sees artists such as Alfie Boe and Rufus Wainwright present sessions from their homes to yours. Past performances are archived on the Royal Albert Hall website to watch as and when.

Billed as a "virtual festival of the arts", Culture in Quarantine will broadcast across several BBC platforms including Radio 4, BBC Sounds and iPlayer, featuring guides to closed exhibitions and museum collections, broadcasts of new plays, a virtual book festival and a puppet show from Margaret Atwood.
