If you're looking to squeeze a relaxing holiday into your schedule before wedding season begins, The Berkshires are one of the best places to spend a few days strolling through independent art galleries before an afternoon snooze in the sun. A collection of picturesque and wonderfully peaceful villages, this hilly segment of western Massachusetts is home to a flourishing creative community, as well as endless options for farm-to-table meals and all-natural day spas.
Art nuts would be remiss not to jump at the opportunity of attending the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, a vast, sunshine-filled space brimming with diverse exhibits. When passing through the quaint town of Stockbridge, be sure to stop by the Norman Rockwell Museum too. Those looking for a wellness boost should head to Cranwell Spa in Lenox for a few hours of massages, swimming and smoothies following a day of hiking in the region's mountains. Six Depot Roastery and Café in west Stockbridge is a favourite for midday fuel - the kale caesar and local pan-seared tempeh are heavenly.

Summer is a fabulous time of year for music lovers to visit, as the Tanglewood Music Centre hosts daily concerts as well as a Festival of Contemporary Music at the end of July. The area is a fantastic destination year-round however, with apple picking during the autumn months, easy access to skiing in winter and idyllic weather for exploring towns come springtime.
