If Drake's song Views was the soundtrack to any trip, it would be this one. Ski in the Southern Alps, paraglide over crystalline Lake Wakatipu or go white-water rafting on rivers flowing through the rocky canyons. Whatever you choose you can bank on the backdrop being screensaver worthy. If you're after more chill than thrill, head to one of Wakatipu's peaceful beaches with a good book or go for a lazy bike ride through the vineyards.
If you're in it for the winter sports, hit up Queenstown between June and October. Otherwise, summer in the southern hemisphere stretches from December to February and is a wonderfully temperate time to explore the island's diverse landscapes.

If you like skiing, a backcountry session with a guide will blow you away. Adventure junkie? Go heli-skiing. Finish both with chic après-ski drinks, of course. Speaking of which, the area is known for its Pinot Noir so grab your pals, pack a picnic and a bottle (or three) and wile away the afternoon under a shady tree overlooking the vineyards.
