A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Old Québec is a playground for discovering adorable cafés, quirky boutiques and outstanding French cuisine. To get between upper and lower towns, hop on the funicular and admire the views.

The best museum in the city, this spot features mainly Quebec artists, many dating back to the province’s early days. Make sure to check out the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle, one of the most renowned French Canadian artists, as well as the ultra-cool wooden Mercedes, known as “Lost in Nature”.

Surrounding the Château Frontenac, the terrace is a stunning historic walkway with views over the river, the city’s old port and the citadel, which the terrace leads to. Keep and eye out for local street performers and events held here, and to maximise the experience, make sure to be here for sunset.

For an outdoorsy morning, stop by the stunning Montmorency Falls. The park is equipped with a cable car, a suspended bridge and a double zip-line for adventure-seekers, and the hike up the falls’ cliff is breathtaking in every sense of the word. Stop by the Manor at the top for lunch with incredible views.

If you’re looking to escape the city during a winter visit, head up to Le Massif, one of the province’s top ski resorts just outside of town. Rent a big chalet with friends and enjoy the stunning views of pistes that look like they’re plunging into the St Lawrence River from above.
