Mr. Tang loves “old things” and has certainly filled his life with them. He can see their worth far more than other people. telling us “they don’t like old things but this stuff, it all tells us a story”. Mr Tang’s shop is the perfect place to source retro Malaysian clocks, dressers, lights, antique baskets, tiffins, trays and china.

There is a sizeable fabric market on Jalan Taming Sari where you can find plenty of bejewelled saris or get a tailor to create something bespoke. At the market you will also meet a lot of Indians and Sri Lankans who were brought to Taiping by the British to help fight in the Second World War.
