Winter Wonderland in Chamonix

Nestled snuggly at the foot of Mont Blanc is the quaint, bustling town of Chamonix. The valley extends from Servoz to Barberine on the Swiss border. It is not a manufactured resort but rather a town which over time evolved into the world capital of alpinism and offers skiing that brings people from all corners of the globe. I took a few days alone to wander the backstreets, take small mountain roads and generally search for the views others had yet to find. Armed with an old Hasselblad V series camera and several rolls of Kodak Portra I set off. One of my favourite things about photographing in the mountains is that you can shoot in almost any weather, the landscape is so vast and varied that the entire valley is like a studio.
