Johannesburg’s
Johannesburg’s
name seems to be tainted by stories of crime and
decay, and is always overshadowed by its sibling Cape Town. But
Joburg has an energy that its sleepy sister lacks. It is a much
more integrated city than Cape Town, and a sense of unity prevails
amongst residents. Each suburb and district has its own unique
quality, which friendly residents are proud to reveal. There is so
much to see and do that you will do not regret spending a few
nights in this incredible city.
TIPS & TRICKS
- To get anywhere in Johannesburg, be prepared to drive or be
driven. Unless you know the city, use taxis and ubers where
possible, especially at night. Taxis are not cheap. - You can walk comfortably around Braamfontein and Maboneng, and
the parks and main streets in the suburbs, but stay vigilant. - Despite the city’s high crime rate, get out of the suburbs and
go explore all the great places Downtown.
