Rhythm Issue we decided to turn the lens back on our home town by
taking a look at eight women who are crafting the future of music
from our back yard. London’s music scene is always evolving, and we
continue our series this week with North London rapper and singer
Little Simz’s city spots.

My friends and I used to come here during the summer and chill by
the canal – get a beer, listen to music and just catch a vibe.
What sounds sum up your area?
Space Age.
In what ways has North London shaped you and your music?
It’s where I was born. It’s where I’ve grown up. It’s where I
went to school. It’s my everyday existence even when I’m not here
because of the close ties I have with the area.
What’s the first place you go when you come back home?
My mum’s house.
The best food can be found at….?
My mum’s house.
What’s the best thing about where you’re from?
My family and my friends.
What has changed in recent years?
A lot has changed in the area, nothing ever really stays the
same.
What has stayed the same?
Nothing ever stays the same.
