The Carry On: December 2020

Bath salts, slippers and the pyjama’s we’re wearing all Christmas. Here’s what we’re coveting in our carry on this month…

Carry On is our monthly round-up of our favourite travel
items we’d happily haul from Stansted to Seville,
Heathrow to Hydra. Be it a functional fedora or the latest in
skincare science, we’ve probably got it in our carry on. Riffing on
the adage “if you can think it, you can be it”, we’re saying: “If
you can jam it in your carry on… you can bring it.” Catchy.

Note: weight restrictions and other practicalities do not

Bath salts, slippers and the pyjama’s we’re wearing all
Christmas. Here’s what we’re coveting this month…

Ada soft double-cotton pyjamas

TOAST’s loungewear is the sort worth staying in for. Matching
pyjama sets are always a win in our book and these double-faced,
slightly crumpled cotton set in dusty pink are extra dreamy. Suited
to cosy nights on the couch and Sunday mornings lounging in bed,
Ada pjs are super soft and made of 100-per-cent cotton. P.S. You’ll
love the expertly crafted details – like the rounded collar and
cropped drawstring trousers with back patch pockets.

Cocoon Slippers

Celtic & Co.

These slippers are perfect for padding around the house. The
danger is that once you’ve worn them, you won’t want to go anywhere
ever again – or wear anything else. Made of 100-per-cent sheepskin,
the cocoon slippers gently hug and snug your feet in all the right
places, offering a sleek change of pace from your bum-around socks.
Crafted in elegant ivory sheepskin with a traditional slipper
silhouette, these slip-on shoes are built on a soft leather sole
for guaranteed longevity. A comfortable classic.

Stress-fix soaking bath salts

We’re big fans of Haeckels’ mineral-rich sea bath salts
(particularly when we need to de-stress). Combining rosemary and
clary sage oils with raw local botanicals – think vitamin-rich
seaweed, sea buckthorn and arnica – they refresh and hydrate dry,
worn-out skin. To use, dissolve a few shakes into a warm bath and
allow to settle. Then enjoy your bath.

Sheepskin hot-water bottle cover in Ecru

Cut by hand in Somerset, this chic sheepskin hot-water bottle
has become one of our favourite travel items. Long car journeys are
made extra cosy with TOAST’s hot-water bottle in tow and it works a
treat as heat therapy for aches and pains (an extra comfort when
away from home). The open-top design allows for easy filling, with
the cover fitting a standard-sized hot water bottle. Sheepskin is a
brilliant natural insulator which proves that this is one occasion
where form and function, style and substance are in perfect

George Plain Silk Neck Band Dress Shirt in Cream

Bailey X Budd, Budd

The button-down is the linchpin of any outfit/ well-packed
suitcase: it works from day to night, for any occasion and makes
weekend dressing super simple. Laura Bailey and Cathy Kasterine
have blended their fashion creativity and intuition with Budd
London’s expert craftsmanship to create the perfect man’s shirt (as
worn by a woman). The six-piece capsule collection includes a
number of shirts and nightwear options (from sweet pyjama sets to a
smart nightshirt) and we’ve set our heart on quite a few. Of the
lot, the first item we’d eagerly pop in our suitcase is George.
Based on a traditional men’s stiff-bibbed dress shirt, the cream
version (it’s also available in black) features smart white linen
cuffs, creating a fresh yet subtle contrast against the shirt’s
silk body.

We think we’ve found the perfect nude in “pout”. Ok, calm down

Bitter Peach

TOM FORD’s Private Blend collection is designed with the true
fragrance connoisseur in mind (we’d like to think of ourselves as
such). The latest edition, Bitter Peach, is a sexy little blend of
pêche de vigne and Sicilian blood-orange oil. Its 50mls of
sensuality is revealed through rum-infused davana oil and surge of
patchouli. It’s something of a chameleon, adapting well for night
and day – and is the ideal size for your carry on.
