Bergen, Norway
Embedded in the Seven Mountains among seven fjords, Bergen's web of timber houses, cobbled roads and patches of greenery make strolling through its streets feel like an adventure into an older era. Magical scenery, achingly cool boutiques, drinking dens and people, and not a selfie stick in sight.
It rains 260 days of the year so the warmer the month the better. If you like jazz then visit in May/June when the city plays host to several festivals.
Best friend or other half.
Fans of Scandi design and extremely well-dressed individuals.
The brilliant Kunsthall for art, T-Michael boutique to meet Bergen's most dapper man, Lysverket for a mind-blowing meal, and Ujvent to round off the day with beer and beard watching.
Everything and anything Waterproof. We like The People's Poncho.
