As As New York Fashion Week kicks off, we've compiled a list of our favourite NY Instagrammers to follow for peacocking in its prime.

Fashion illustrator Jenny Walton is creative director at The Sartorialist. The street-style sweetheart, who is also Scott Schuman's partner, is something of a vintage mix 'n' matcher, combining carefully sourced pieces with more well-known brands. With an effortless ownership of the clothing she chooses, Walton is renowned for causing a frenzy on the fashion circuit. Between shows catch her etching the catwalk's most favoured looks before jetting off to the next.

The brain behind Man Repeller - the satirical style website about trends that women love and men hate - maverick Medine wears (and does) just about anything she likes. An educator, great wit and damn good dresser, Medine is far from circumspect in her sartorial choices. Her outfit building is playfulness personified; Gabriela Hearst mules are paired with graphic socks and ski masks are worn with a flair of functionality. At NYFW, you'll find her donning the jazziest wrists in town; Medine's "arm parties" (a term she coined to describe her habit of stacking her forearms with bracelets) are the stuff of fashion magpies' dreams.

September was Reese Blutstein's first fashion week and the sequel this month is set to be equally elating. Blogging from her hometown of Atlanta, Blutstein's feed is filled with balloon and bell-sleeve tops, pretty pencil skirts and romantic silky shift dresses alongside more structured pieces. The 21-year-old art student - who has been likened to Tavi Gevinson - focuses on enduring style over fashion fads, with outfit combinations that are nostalgic and new-age in equal parts. With a somewhat muted colour palette and a double edit of items, this blogger's images are straight out of a Celine (by Phoebe Philo) ad.

The cut-throat fashion Instagram account known for calling out copycat designs, Diet Prada is the ultimate in satirical sartorialism. Its modus operandi is simple: "post side-by-side images of two different looks, the originator and the copyist". One of the funniest, most feared, voices in the industry, Diet Prada's light-hearted posts have caught the attention of the fashion industry with Naomi Campbell counting herself as a fan. Last year, after DP pointed out the similarities between Alessandro Michele's 2018 Gucci resort collection and the designs of Harlem tailor Dapper Dan, the designer invited the account holders to take over Gucci's official handle for Milan fashion week. This Los Angeles and Chicago-based image consultant and super-stylist is a familiar front-row face at New York Fashion week. Rolling with Kanye and Odd Future's crew on a regular basis, it's no surprise that May sports Yeezys and Jordans in every colour. With a style that is invariably borrowed from the boys, her staple uniform is a rotation of graphic tees, hoodies, pendant necklaces, bomber jacket, tees, jeans or sweats and sneakers. May's love of lowkey dressing is amplified in her effortless mixing of high-fashion brands with streetwear labels. Making a serious case for parachute pants, her '80s and '90s inspired look is luxurious, urban and comfortable.

Stylist and "It" girl Kate Foley may be on hiatus this fashion week due to the imminent arrival of her baby, but her sartorial eye will no doubt be keeping beady watch from the sidelines. With a style code that sees no limitations, Foley's aesthetic is eclecticism meets Park Avenue. Emoting coolness, her maximalist approach - which takes inspiration from Miuccia Prada - sees sliders mixed with a mid-length skirt (her version of jeans), a T-shirt or shirt and her signature red lip. Between shows, catch her recuperating at The Edition Hotel.

Super influencer Chriselle Lim is a mainstay on the front row across fashion month and couture. Since founding The Chriselle Factor in 2011, her style has evolved as much as her wardrobe has expanded - now jam-packed with ball gowns and cashmere sweaters. Offsetting scallop-sleeved shirts with leather minis and toile skirts paired with knit jumpers, Lim's style is sophisticated and feminine.

Model, socialite, blogger, fashion designer and DJ; Gala Gonzalez's repertoire is lengthy. Sporting a rolodex of coats, the Spanish-born, New York-based influencer is mutable in her style, reimagining staple wardrobe items and quirky outfit compilations. The niece of Spanish designer Adolfo Domínguez, her outfits veer towards undone, as she dresses down couture gowns with polo necks and Superga sneakers.

Perched in prime position at every major show, this Dutch darling has cemented her place in the New York fashion scene. Print-loving Groeneveld, of The Fashion Guitar, pairs delicate dresses with heavy-duty coats and doubling shoulder bags as cross-bodies. Groeneveld's wardrobe is a collection of '70s delights in a myriad of colours. Dotted with family pictures of her toddlers, James and Stella, Groeneveld's page is decidedly stylish without being overly formulaic.
