The store to find up-and-coming Colombian brands, Casa Précis showcases over 25 young designers. Their slogan is “where art becomes fashion,” and with a leafy interior plus rare finds, the store is quite the piece of art.

Run by Colombia’s most stylish couple, Francisco Leal and Karen Daccarett, this fashion house has been spearheading the country’s new design with flowing, colourful dresses inspired by the country’s biodiversity and culture.

Bogotánas of all ages love to wrap woven bracelets and lucky charms around their arms from wrist to elbow, and they come here to buy them. Locally crafted, when we visited their latest collection was an homage to the days of Gatsby.

Its three locations in Bogotá offer a wide variety of high-quality, fair-trade crafts sourced from Indigenous communities across the country. The selection leans towards home decor but clothing, bags and accessories can be found here too. Prices may be a bit higher than other craft shops in the city, but for good reason: 70 per cent of profits are given back to the village artisans.

This Sunday market is as much about the experience as what’s for sale. Set against the Andean mountains on the cobblestone streets of Usaquen, this flea market offers a distinct selection of goods to peruse while listening to local musicians with a steaming cup of tinto (street coffee) in hand. Whether on the prowl for succulents, vinyl records or artisanal soaps, you can find almost anything here. Yet unlike other traditional markets, sellers aren’t pushy. Sundays only from 9am-5pm.

Mambe was created by the Mambe Foundation to empower local Indigenous and peasant communities through the selling of their goods. The handmade products found here, such as Amazonian hammocks and bags handwoven in the Sierra Nevada mountains, are not likely to be found elsewhere in the city. If you want to support rural communities and take home a piece of the most remote regions of Colombia without venturing further than a quiet back street in Usaquen, this is the shop for you.

Since opening in 2011, this boutique has become coveted among locals for its celebration of Colombian designers. More than 60 clothing and jewellery designers are presented across several exhibition spaces, each designed with the spirit of the brand displayed in mind. Feel like a haircut and slice of pizza? A hairdresser can be found on the second floor and a pizzeria is located in the garden of this charming historic place in Quinta Camacho.
