O by Cirque du Soleil

Las Vegas, United States

Shows in Las Vegas change often, so make sure you check with your hotel concierge and get the latest info on the talent in town. O by Cirque du Soleil takes place at the Bellagio Hotel and is mesmerising. Perhaps best described as a Salvador Dalí painting come to life, the constantly shifting dreamscape features sensuous music, fantastical costumes and liquid acrobatics performed above and within a pool that retracts to 60ft below stage.

Chippendales Show

Las Vegas, United States

Dance, remove clothes, cup male parts in hand, turn around and thrust pelvis; this sequence is repeated often throughout the CHIPPENDALES show, but who’s asking you to mark this male revue on originality of choreography? Buy a drink at the bar and bag a plastic cup branded with your favourite hunk, then sit back and enjoy the show. OR stand up, wave your arms and shout to be pulled up on stage. After the show, there’s a meet and greet in the ‘flirt lounge’, but be warned – that Chippendale charm isn’t quite the same once it’s got a jumper on.

Casinos

Las Vegas, United States

Whether you’re happy playing a few slot machines or keen to double down with the high rollers, Vegas casinos are vast and often confusing. Decked out entirely in red and gleaming gold, the WYNN’s casino is elegant and their poker room, with its gleaming chandeliers and extravagant artwork lining the walls, is one of the best in town. The BELLAGIO is a more classical option, with old-fashion canopies encasing the gaming tables. For a younger, cooler vibe head to the MGM GRAND or to CAESARS PALACE which is buzzing at all hours of the day.
It’s not a problem if you’ve never so much as looked at a roulette table in your life. Many Vegas casinos –including ARIA, BELLAGIO, MGM GRAND and MANDALAY BAY – offer free gaming lessons to the public during quieter daytime hours. Enquire in the morning and keep in mind that although these lessons might be ‘free’, the more people who know how to gamble, the happier Vegas casinos are.
