Song
Vienna, Austria
An irresistible shop on the ever-evolving Praterstrasse. In a room of scrubbed walls and fresh flowers you can find radical fashion, accessories, homeware and skincare from European and international brands, as well as Song’s own label. Keep an eye out for their in-house art and furniture exhibitions for something that definitely won’t fit into your hand luggage.
shopping
We Bandits
Vienna, Austria
This is the brand’s second store in the seventh district, an airy museum of cutting-edge Korean and Scandinavian clothing and accessories for women, housed in a former bookshop. Each piece is hand-selected from a clutch of cult designers. Think structured coats, silk skirts, fuzzy beanies and leather gloves.
shopping
Burggasse 24
Vienna, Austria
Hand-selected pieces are arranged across this bright, creaky-floored vintage shop. Peruse the colourful leathers, fur coats, denim and tweed before stopping for a coffee at the cosy in-house café, where Vienna’s cool crowd like to while away their afternoons.
shopping
Viu
Vienna, Austria
We Bandits shares its premises with the flagship store of the cult eyewear brand Viu. This crisp white space displays eye-wateringly beautiful glasses and sunglasses in a gallery-like format, arranged into personalities – including The Writer, The Considerate and The Cat. We have you down as The Explorer type.
shopping
Saint Charles Apotheke
Vienna, Austria
The owner of these elegant stores has a pharmaceutical family history that goes back six generations. On the dark wooden shelves of this tiled apothecary you will find some of the world’s best skincare brands, as well as Saint Charles’s own sumptuous lotions and potions.
shopping
Muehlbauer
Vienna, Austria
You may notice that the Viennese are a particularly debonair bunch. From leather to fine furs, this is a city of artisans. One such artist was Julianna Mühlbauer, a millionairess who began making hats back in 1903. Her now iconic company makes turbans, trilbies and top hats for some of the world’s biggest stars.
shopping
Lederleitner Home Store
Vienna, Austria
Lederleitner Home Store is such a nice shop that, even if you’ve adamantly promised not to buy any more this month, it’s worth taking a look. The beautiful selection of furniture, art-deco items and take-home trinkets are perfectly staged, providing us with great inspiration (and a growing want to buy everything in sight).
shopping
PARK
Vienna, Austria
This popular concept store opened by Markus Strasser and Helmut Ruthner presents a well-edited selection of clothing by both local and internationally recognised designers. Park’s sales offer some great bargains, so if your dates happen to overlap you may need to check in an extra suitcase.
